So THAT was an exhausting week. I swear, ever since I got back from Europe I feel like I've been working 80 hours a week. I haven't, actually - it just feels that way. It used to be I finished the day with the to-do list all checked off, but now I'm excited when I only leave a couple of tasks undone. I'm just not used to it.

Part of my difficulty is that I am simply not a multitasker. My preference is to have one major task at a time and focus on that. When I'm bombarded by a constantly shifting series of demands on my attention I just get annoyed. Yesterday I was helping interview job candidates. I shifted uneasily in my chair when my boss was talking about how people who aren't comfortable in disordered work environments really don't fit in at our place of business. I wonder if she realized that she's describing me.

To make matters worse I haven't been sleeping well, making me too groggy or distracted in the mornings to get much writing done. All and all not a terribly satisfying period.

Pardon me if you've seen these already, but I feel I have a duty to circulate these:

1) A taxonomy of libertarians

2) A cartoon rendition on a Marxist analysis of the financial crisis here.
