It's an election year. The Republicans are in deep trouble. And suddenly Wolf Blitzer is breathless about a dirty bomb plot at NFL stadiums. Good thing I'm not a cynic, or I'd be suspicious.

So why was an advisory sent?
And this bit: The presumed purpose of its use would be as a weapon of mass disruption rather than a weapon of mass destruction.
I don't even know what that is. Maybe it's like pulling a fire alarm during finals week? Or is it like Paris Hilton staggering down a street drunk, followed by a horde of paparazzi?
