For those interested in education policy, and more specifically in the recent trend towards tying teacher personnel policy to individual student test scores, I would point you to a devastating series of analyses by Gary Rubinstein. He's taken a look at New York City's release of teacher VAM data and found some predictably disturbing results. The short version: VAM isn't going to work.
